“My keyboard will type okay as long as I'm not trying to type two of the same letters. I can't even backspace more than once. I have tried restarting my computer and it still doesn't work.”
“Keyboard refuses to type any letter twice. I have to do first something else on the keyboard, and only then type the same letter again.”

Recently, I have updated my Lenovo computer to latest Windows 10 and accidently found that I can't type double letters on my keyboard with no particular reasons. Then I searched it on Google and found many users have the same trouble. Therefore it makes sense for me to share a super easy way to troubleshoot this type error.
The phenomenon that you can’t type repeat letters often happens after you made some changes to your computer, like updating Windows, reinstalling system, restoring to factory setting and so on.
No matter what reasons led to this problem, all you need to do is to disable Filter Keys following below steps:
1. Click Start > Control Panel
2. Choose Ease of Access
3. Click Change how you keyboard works
4. Uncheck Turn on Filter Keys under Make it easier to type option
By this way, you should have no problems with Windows 7/8/10 keyboard won't type double letters. Don’t forget to share this post if it’s helpful.
