How to Use Facebook Trusted Contacts to Recover Password?

Facebook Trusted Contacts can be set to help you regain access to your account if you are unable to log in for any reason, such as a lost password or if the account has been hacked.

Facebook Trusted Contacts allows you to choose three to five friends in advance, whom you can ask to help you get into your accounts in the event you're shut out for any reason.

How to Set Facebook Trusted Contacts?

• Step 1. Log in to your Facebook account and navigate to the Security section of your account settings. Click on the Choose Trusted Contacts links to begin.

  

• Step 2. You'll be given the basic rundown of what Trusted Contacts can do to help you keep your account secure. Click on the Choose Trusted Contacts button when you're ready to move on.

  

• Step 3. You'll need to add a minimum of three people, with a maximum of five, to the list. Start typing your friend's name and select his or her name from the list. Do this for all three to five of your friends. Once you're done adding names, click on Confirm and then enter your account password to save the list.

  

Keep in mind when adding more than three names to the list that you'll need a private code from each contact before you can gain access to your account. And each person can only get the code by accessing Facebook. Don't add someone who doesn't get on Facebook all that often, or someone who is likely to take a while to get back to you.

• Step 1. Tab your designated friends for help, Facebook will send them special codes to help you regain access. Each friend will be sent a different code.
• Step 2. After your friends send you the codes, you should enter at least three of the codes correctly. Then Facebook gives you access to your account again.
