Before using this tool, you should learn this three types of password attack:
dictionary attack
A dictionary attack is successively trying all the words in an exhaustive list called a dictionary. a dictionary attack tries only those possibilities which are most likely to succeed, typically derived from a list of words for example a dictionary (hence the phase dictionary attack) or a bible etc. Generally, dictionary attacks succeed because many people have a tendency to choose passwords which are short (7 characters or fewer), single words found in dictionaries or simple, easily-predicted variations on words, such as appending a digit.
brute force attack
A brute force attack is a strategy used to break the encryption of data. It involves traversing the search space of possible keys until the correct key is found. The selection of an appropriate key length depends on the practical feasibility of performing a brute force attack. By obfuscating the data to be encoded, brute force attacks are made less effective as it is more difficult to determine when one has succeeded in breaking the code.
Brute-force with Mask Attack
Mask is the password characteristic which you still remember when the password is lost or forget, such as the password length and the possible characters.
For example, if you know the password is compose with 5characters and begins with 'a', then you can define the mask as 'a????'.
If you know the password contains small letters, you select the checkbox a-z.
If you know the password contains digits, you select the checkbox 0-9.
If you know the first character of the password, check Prefix, and enter it.
