"How to configure smart search results in Windows 8.1?"

For Windows 8.1, the release does in fact offer two major new features. One is its deep SkyDrive integration, the other is deep Bing integration, which results in a truly innovative and useful new feature called Smart Search. But if you are not a fan of Smart Search, you can disable it. Now you may be wondering how to find what you exactly look for.

By default, the Search in Windows 8.1 filters adult images and videos but not text from your web search results. This is because the SafeSearch feature is set to Moderate. So you need to adjust SafeSearch to filter your search results easily. Here you are allowed to filter search results in Windows 8.1 with using SafeSearch, which means you are supposed to set the SafeSearch setting.

Note: You may not want to miss the info about SafeSearch:
SafeSearch: As with browser-based web searches, this settings determines how much adult content is filtered out of search results. As with the previous setting, this is available only when Using Bing to Search Online is set to On.
