Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a web browser that has become popular due to its speed. It scored 5773 on Browsermark, took 150.4ms to complete Sunspider, and scored 5627 on Peacekeeper. There are plenty of available add-ons that can make your browsing experience better.

In addition, it features secure web browsing experience as it has an anti-spyware, anti- phishing, anti-virus, and a private mode.

However, there is also a problem with Chrome, as well as Opera and IE, is that it runs a number of processes, making it harder to shut down when things go bad.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is the most well known web browser. The latest IE web browser is fast and full of new features. The IE has features that are the same with Firefox, but the only difference is that it is not open source, making it lacking off plenty add-ons.

This is the only web browser that offers telephone support. However, this cannot be used on Mac as this only supports PCs. Sadly, it’s every bit the memory hog that Chrome and Opera are, using 714MB in my nine-tab test. On the other hand, it used “only” 7 processes, half that of the WebKit-based Chrome and Opera.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is a web browser that meets the requirements of an excellent web browsing experience. This web browser is extremely fast and provides a highly secure internet browsing environment. It also has numerous add-ons, including one of the best video downloader: DownloaderHelper.

Its speed may be slower than Chrome or Opera, but is enough. It uses fewer resources than Chrome, spawning only a single process, and using only 510MB of memory

Safari

Safari is a web browser originally from Apple. It is probably the least popular of the top browsers under Windows even though this browser supports both Windows and Mac and is also lightweight. It has a border with 1 pixel wide only, which gives you more room for viewing web pages with your computer.

It lacks the anti-phishing security feature that the other internet browsers have, but the many top features make it ideal for Mac users.

Opera

Opera is considered as the smallest web browser from the five different programs. The opera is the commonly used web browser in smartphones. It is not only quick, but also extremely lightweight making it ideal for use in mobile devices. In addition, its speed is only a hair slower than Chrome for its gradual update, scoring 5625 on BrowserMark and 5447 in Peacekeeper.

However, there are still some minor complaints. There’s no native feature for emailing a link to a page. You must install an extension for this functionality.

It’s so much of value to totally understand the comparisons among these different popular web browsers. After this, you can choose the best one to install and use. In addition, you can get into here for more browser tips.
